Mercan Dede continues his record of releasing chart-topping albums with his most recent release, 800. Dedicated to the Mevlana in honor of his 800th birthday, at the beginning of the year, 800’s “Istanbul” graced the number 1 spot in Midem’s Preview Magazine, and in April of 2008 hit the number 1 spot out of 186 slots on the WMCE list.
